As many people may know, exercise releases hormones in your body that, put simply, make you happy.

I’m here today to share with you not so much of a productivity tip, but more of a staying relaxed and happy in your everyday life sort of tip. 

I am not really very much of an athlete at all, and I find it very difficult sometimes to get up, get dressed, and go. However, I have noticed that when I can get up and do something simple, even going for a short walk, gives me the benefits of exercising without a huge commitment. 

Exercise can be a difficult topic because some people only associate the word with very strenuous exercises, like marathons or olympic-level weightlifting. However, exercise can be lifting 3-pound weights twice a week, or going for a walk around the block twice a week. Even doing smaller exercises like these can help you get set on the right track.

Also, another very essential activity to drastically improve your mood and well-being is sleep. I’m not a professional, and I don’t know how much sleep anyone should get, but personally, I can’t function well at all if I get under 7 hours of sleep every night.

Sleep is important because it allows your brain to refresh itself and your body. Again, I don’t know all of the facts, but getting a good night’s sleep is really important for your health.

Now, since I’ve barely scratched the surface of explaining this, I would like to recommend a book that covers everything I’ve talked about and more, a book called Brain Rules by John Medina,  an actual scientist who can really tell you what you need to know.
